Burans team

We are made up of 18 people. Three community teams each led by a project officer - there is Sanjeev, Puja and Kundan. They each work in their communities with their team of four community workers. The coordinating team is made up of the Project Director, Dr Kaaren Mathias, a field coordinator and an adminstrative assistant.

We meet monthly for training and many more times a month in our different communities.

Meet Anuj

Introducing Anuj Sharma, a Community worker, working in Burans from July 2014. He is the youngest of four brothers. “In Burans, what I really enjoy are times when I can sit with someone in mental distress, and listen to them and help them through counselling and problem solving”. Although Anuj had worked as a community social worker previously, the Burans work in building resilience in adolescents in the schools has given a new dimension to his work.  “It is so rewarding spending time in our small groups with students in schools. So many are finding benefits from this aspect of 'Burans' project.”
